Cookies
Last updated 8 September 2026
There is no cookie banner on this site, and that is not an oversight. It sets only the cookies it needs to sign you in, which under UK and EU law do not require consent. This page says what they are.
What we set
- A session cookie. Set when you sign in, so that the next page knows it is still you. It holds a signed token, not your password. It expires after 30 days, or when you sign out, whichever comes first.
- Sign-in cookies. A couple of short-lived cookies used only while you are in the middle of signing in, including one that protects the sign-in form against being submitted from another site.
That is the lot. All of them are strictly necessary and none of them tracks you.
What we do not set
- No analytics cookies. There is no analytics on this site at all: no script, no pixel, no third-party measurement.
- No advertising cookies. We do not currently serve advertising. If that changes, this page will be updated before it does, and anything that needs your consent will ask for it first rather than after.
- No cookies from anybody else. Every third party this site talks to is talked to from our server, not from your browser, so none of them can set a cookie on you through us. Images do load from Letterboxd, TMDB and Discord, and requesting an image is a request to those companies' servers, though it carries no cookie of ours.
Storage in your browser
A few small preferences may be kept in your browser's own storage rather than in a cookie, such as remembering that you have already seen a particular spin. That never leaves your device and is cleared when you clear site data.
Turning them off
Your browser can block or delete cookies, and there are instructions in its help. Blocking the session cookie means you cannot stay signed in, so the site will not work while signed out of it.
